TWO-AT-A-TIME SOCKS on one circular needle:
- Lesson 1: Saturday, November 10th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm with Vanessa Picard
- Lesson 2: Saturday, December 1st, 1:30pm - 3:00pm with Vanessa Picard
Sock knitters around the world know all about the dreaded Second Sock Syndrome (S.S.S.). S.S.S. sneaks up on you when you least expect it. Its causes vary: pattern fatigue; boring, brown yarn for your husband’s socks; the sweet siren’s song of that new skein and pattern… Before you know it, you have a drawer full of single socks and a full-fledged case of S.S.S. Your sock-knitting career doesn’t have to end this way. There is a cure! If you knit two socks at the same time, you’ll never have to worry about Second Sock Syndrome again.
This class is divided into two 90-minute lessons. In lesson 1, you will learn how to cast on for two socks on one long circular needle. (Using one long needle is the Magic Loop method.) You will then work on the legs of two socks for the balance of the class. Your homework will be to finish the legs and heel flaps before lesson 2. In lesson 2, you will work on picking up and decreasing the gussets. Once you’ve mastered the gussets, the foot and the toes are a cinch.
Knitters must already know how to make socks.
KNITTERS SHOULD BRING:
• One 47-inch circular needle in a gauge normally used for socks (0-3)
• Once skein sock yarn
• Stitch markers
Cost: $35 for one group class, pre-registration is required.
